Desmopressin is a synthetic vasopressin prescribed by veterinarians for the treatment of central diabetes insipidus in cats and dogs. It is also used as part of therapy for Von Willebrand's Disease, a blood clotting disorder commonly found in dogs.
Follow your veterinarian’s prescription carefully. If a dose is missed, give it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next scheduled dose—do not double dose.
Keep out of reach of children. Use only as prescribed by your veterinarian. Do not use in animals prone to blood clots, including those with underlying heart disease. Not extensively studied in pregnant dogs or cats; should only be used if benefits outweigh risks.
